A mentoring program in which African American role models engage 25 young adults on a weekly basis to raise the awareness of the importance of education. The students receive financial literacy and entrepreneurship training. Each student learns to create a business plan that requires knowledge of cash flow, budgeting, company evaluations, and financial statements. The program culminates with an annual competition is held to reward those students who have mastered the business project.
Kwame Foundation provides a platform that highlights talented public school students who are passionate about the visual and performing arts. The Foundation hosts an annual high school talent show competition featuring selected students in the areas of music, dance, spoken word, and art. Those chosen are given the opportunity to develop their artistic dream. Kwame Foundation supports the student by assisting with live stage performance opportunities and audio production experience including recording sessions.
Since 2003, Kwame Foundation hosts an annual golf tournament to raise funds for education. Kwame Foundation endows approximately $150,000 annually in scholarships at universities to improve educational opportunities for minorities. To date, the Kwame Foundation has raised over $1.5 million in endowed scholarships.
