Learn
The Kwame Foundation has a mentoring program called The Gentlemen’s Club that gives African American students role models too engage with. Approximately 25 young adults meet on a weekly basis and receive financial literacy and entrepreneurship training. Each student learns to create a business plan and are taught the fundamentals of cash flow, budgeting, company evaluations, and financial statements. The program culminates with an annual competition and students who have mastered the business project are awarded a prize.
Dream
The Kwame Foundation provides a platform called “Live Your Dream” which is a scholarship that highlights talented public school students who are passionate about the visual and performing arts. The Foundation hosts an annual high school talent show competition featuring selected students in the areas of music, dance, spoken word, and art. Students chosen are given the opportunity to develop their artistic dreams. The Kwame Foundation supports students by assisting with live stage performance opportunities, audio production experience, and recording sessions.
Achieve
Since 2003, Kwame Foundation hosts an annual golf tournament to raise funds for education. Kwame Foundation endows approximately $150,000 annually in scholarships at universities to improve educational opportunities for minorities. To date, the Kwame Foundation has raised over $1.5 million in endowed scholarships.
